Thanksgiving at Your House God Stories

My husband and I were very excited about doing this outreach (serving Thanksgiving at our house to someone), because we felt like it was a way that we could get our three little girls (ages 3, 5, and 6) involved in some "love out loud" alongside of us. I hope the church decides to do this outreach again next year because we will be in again!

We wanted kids in our guest request, so that our kids could prayerfully minister to the parents and children alike by the way they love on the children. We requested children and you were so wonderful to hook us up! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Our kids are constantly getting gifts from friends and family, so I am always in prayer for wisdom in teaching them to be giving and unselfish. This outreach allowed them to share their things with a three-year-old boy and a 16-month-old girl (children of a single mom). The little boy was playing with a specific car the girls have had for a while most of the night, and when the family left for the night, my oldest gave him the car to keep! The boy was SO excited! He said, "MOM, SHE SAID I COULD KEEP IT!!!!" It was so cute and you know my heart was praising God!!!

My older two were playing mommy to the 16-month-old girl the whole evening! They were following her around and giving her different toys to play with. She seemed to think she was the queen of the house and it brought many smiles to the mom. We did a little craft with the kids where they made turkeys and wrote things they were thankful for on the feathers. They seemed to enjoy that too.

As for our time with their mom, it was also wonderful. We all read a verse on thanksgiving and told something we were thankful for this past year. When your time is spent focusing on the Lord, how can it be bad? It was great to meet her and her children, and a blessing to be used by the Lord in such an easy and fun way.
