| Thanksgiving at Our House God Stories ::: A Nursing Home Blessing His Hands also visited four nursing homes on Thanksgiving Day bringing fruit for the residents. In addition, CCA students had made cards ahead of time for His Hands to bring and give out at the nursing homes. At Regents Park in Sunrise, some students came along and played the piano for the residents. Before leaving Calvary Chapel grounds to go to the nursing homes, one of the volunteers, Joe, met a man who had come to Calvary expecting services to be held. After some conversation, Joe asked the man to join the outreach and along he came, visiting residents and passing out bags of fruit with Joe. While doing so, he met one resident and gave him some fruit, which happened to have one of the CCA cards inside the bag (the cards were handed out separately). When the elderly resident read it, he began to cry. The card read: Happy Thanksgiving! I love you and God loves you! Love, Justin It turned out this lonely man had a son named Justin that had died at the age of six-years-old. It showed the man that the Lord was there and had not forgotten him, and let him know his son loved him. The three men were blessed beyond measure as they experienced God’s love together. | Submit YOUR God Story |
