Refuge Ministry: Avondale

Church Service
Our bi-lingual church service meets weekly, with worship and Bible study to reach out to the community. Come and join us as we build relationships in order to make disciples.
Youth & Children's Ministry
Our Youth & Children's Ministry is divided into three age groups to better reach out to the kids in the Avondale community. Volunteers are needed to be a positive influence on the children in this tough community.
Adopt-A-Block
Our ministry meets monthly on the last Saturday of each month at the Calvary House property in Pompano Beach to adopt-a-block. This is done by taking out a team into the various neighborhoods surrounding The Refuge and knocking on about 20 doors asking how we can serve those households.
Our teams have painted, gardened, cleaned, and distributed school supplies and groceries to these neighborhoods. Our goal is to SHOW the Gospel first (Matt 5:16) and then to look for ways to share with and pray for people as we invite them to the Sunday church service. We have seen all ages, from teenagers to retired people, come to the Refuge and attend classes because we first went out and served them.
Mid-week Bible Study
During the week, we offer both a men's and women's Bible study to further disciple those in the community.
English Classes
We offer ESL (English as a Second Language) classes twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays 6:30 to 8pm, as a way to build relationships with those we meet.
Homework Assistance
Three to five times a week we offer homework assistance in partnership with other churches to reach out in this community.
