Why do we share God's Word?
We're glad you asked! We share God's Word simply because Jesus told us to do so. That's simple enough, but aside from that, when you know the good news of Jesus Christ and how it's changed your life... well, it's natural to want to share it with others.
We share God's Word through outreaches. The word pretty much says it all. Out. Reach. Going out into the community—reaching out to others with the love of Jesus Christ. For Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, showing this demonstration of love and kindness is done in numerous ways. Locally, it could be as simple as a free car wash in the community, or as big as a stadium event for Christmas or Easter—and everything in-between. On an international scale, it's seen in collecting supplies for relief efforts in places like Haiti, or traveling to the other side of the globe to help the poor and oppressed people in places like India and Africa.
We do this because Jesus' words motivates us to do so:
"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed..." —Luke 4
Over the last two decades, our church has been preaching the gospel, planting churches, and changing lives locally and throughout the continents; in so doing, helping mankind by making disciples wherever we go. Whether God calls us to reach out to people in Africa or a single mother down the street, He challenges us all.
