Current Projects

MERIDA, MEXICO
Building Churches and Water Purification Systems

the picture:
It’s hard to imagine such intense poverty could exist just beyond our American border. It’s even harder to imagine that many primitive villages are home to people who’ve never heard the Gospel. They are the ancient Mayan people living in the Yucatan peninsula… and they are lost in their sins. Many of them are bound by tradition, superstition, and ancestral worship. They survive in mud and bamboo huts with no clean water and a mere one or two meals a day. Still, much of Mexico battles illiteracy, alcoholism, domestic abuse, and poverty with no hope of escape. Resigned to a life of begging, idleness and despair…so many don’t know of the abundant life Christ offers.

the project:
In partnership with Calvary Chapel Merida and our missionaries in Mexico, we want to deliver hope by providing safe drinking water and the Living Water. Our goal is to build out two newly planted churches and establish water purification systems in two Mayan villages; support Calvary Christian Academy Merida and its building projects; and minister to the hearts of the neglected and abandoned elderly.

the participation:
Pray; donate building materials and supplies; donate school supplies, sports equipment, and clothing for both children and the elderly.

PUCALLPA, PERU
Rebuild Homes and Help Disabled Children

the picture:
Most could temporarily get by in a make-shift home… but for the tribal people of Peru, dirt floors, a few plywood walls with no windows, doors or even a roof is their permanent dwelling. Raw sewage and the incessant smell of burning garbage fill the Amazon air. Virtual rags clothe Peruvian children and most families barely earn enough to put food in their bellies. Poverty has gripped these warm, hospitable people… yet they know of no better life. “The poor you will have with you always…” Yes, Jesus spoke those words, but He never intended that we move on without compassion and conviction to act.

the project:
In partnership with Mil Palmeras Church and our missionaries in Peru, we’re setting out to help these precious people repair and improve their homes; participate in the evangelism outreach efforts of the church; and touch the hearts of disabled children.

the participation:
Pray; donate toward building materials and supplies; donate children’s clothing and shoes, Spanish Bibles and school supplies, donate first aid medical supplies, small toys and basic toiletries.
