Kathleen and I went to pack up and shut down the booth we were renting for our art ministry.
The landlord and his wife met us there. The man is a self-proclaimed atheist but holds to new age teachings about energy, light, and self-healing. I’ve spent the last month witnessing to the two of them.
We’ve had many exchanges about our beliefs. During our most recent encounter, my landlord actually admitted that he does believe in something greater than himself. I said, “Me, too. His name is Jesus.”
Today, I felt like my time was up with them. I needed to be bold. Kathleen knew what I was getting ready to do and prayed.
I explained that I was sad to close the booth. A comment was made about a bad economy. I told them that it wasn’t a lack of business that made me sad. “The booth gave me a place to reach out to people and let them know that there is hope,” I said.
I told them that I empathized with those that were lost, desperate and without hope. We loved and prayed for many that visited our booth. I shared the message of God’s love and how He reached down and saved my life. The couple was quiet, but continued to listen.
I announced that Kathleen and I had a gift for them. My landlord walked to the car with us to get it. I’m a cook so he asked if I had made him a cake. “I have something even sweeter for you,” I said. “This is this best gift I have ever received.” I mentioned I knew that he’s done a lot of research about God and likes to keep himself informed. I handed him the Bible and said, “This is the best way to be informed.”
He accepted the Bible. Now God can do His work. The “It’s a Free Gift” Bible prompted me to be bold in a way that I had not been before.
