This book is a must for everyone! It breaks down the Bible topically so you and your family can receive counsel through God's Word. You'll be able to navigate quickly through Scripture as you minister to your family's needs. For example, if your son has had a bad day and feels discouraged, remind him of the truth that God is a God of hope. Using the Reference Guide, look up the word hope, and it will direct you to Scriptures on hope you can use to encourage him.
For the Word of God is living and active.—Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
You can pick up the Scripture Reference Guide at the Calvary Chapel Bookstore in the Counseling section.
The book Parenting with Scripture by Kara Durdin is a wonderful parenting tool. Like the Scripture Reference Guide, it tackles the Bible topically. In addition, the book provides lessons for parents to teach, discussion questions, and an active challenge to do. It walks parents through step by step so they can lead their family successfully through the Word. This book is available in the Calvary Chapel Bookstore.

The next series of Parenting Classes is scheduled to begin in February. Parents wanting direction and growth in their parenting before then can purchase the teachings on parenting by Pastor Bob. Do your devotions as a family need some spicing up and a kick? Here are some suggestions to implement in your home.
A.) Audio devotions on CD, such as "Drive Time Devotions," can be found in the Devotion section of the Calvary Chapel Bookstore. It's a great way to start the day. You can listen in the car or at the breakfast table. They help the Scriptures come alive with music and stories that will engage your family. This devotion style will give your family something good to meditate on and think about all day long. It is also a great springboard into spiritual conversations.
B.) Audio Bibles are another tool that make the Scriptures come alive. You can listen to them at any time, individually or as a family. The excuse, "I'm too tired to read" is gone. Sit back, relax as a family, and allow the Word of God to refresh you as you listen. Visit the Calvary Chapel Bookstore Bible section to view all the selections of the Bible on CD or tape. This investment will be worth it!
C.) "The One Minute Bible" is a great book to get the whole family engaged in reading and talking about the Word. This book can be found in the New Believers section of the Calvary Chapel Bookstore. It's concise, easy to read, and filled with great nuggets your family will hold onto. There is a section on each page to write down personal thoughts or questions. This devotion is to be done daily and can be done in many ways to fit your family's needs. It can be read together with group discussion. It can be read individually each day and then used weekly for a family study that focuses on prayer and sharing the devotions that impacted each family member the most. By doing this, you can build a firm foundation for your family.
