Last year, His Hands received a call from a lady who was in Fort Lauderdale caring for her mom who had been in the hospital. She had come to Fort Lauderdale to help her mother get ready to move to New Jersey. After being very sick, her mother, who lived alone, could not manage by herself and needed help. While her family and friends stepped in to help, her daughter said a few meals from His Hands would be a big help.
I offered to be one of the meal givers and to reach out and minister to this lady. I took her the meal, and she invited me in. I was concerned at first because she was using what I thought was oxygen (later I learned that it was medicine). She assured me that she would be free of the mask shortly and asked me to stay for a visit. We were able to have a nice talk. Before I left, we prayed together and she asked me to return. Our next visit was just as special. She asked about Calvary and my faith, and I was able to share with her. She was a sweet lady, and she blessed me as we enjoyed our sharing and prayer time together.
When she was ready to move to New Jersey, she called His Hands and donated her car to the ministry. At that time, we had a single mom who we had ministered to that had lost her 12-year-old son to cancer. His Hands was able to bless her with that car. So this mother not only blessed me with her sweet spirit, but she also blessed that single mom with her car. The Lord always blesses me when I reach out to someone else in His name. God is so good!
