Feed the hungry and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as day.
—Isaiah 58:10 (NLT)
This ministry gathers food donations, delivering them to children and families in crisis in Broward County. Many of these children are at risk of being removed from their homes due to their parents' inability to provide food. FoodSHARE seeks to meet these material needs as well as minister to each family's spiritual needs whenever the Lord presents the opportunity.
How can I be involved?
Shop for needed food items to donate. These include: - Individual juice boxes
- Puddings and applesauce
- Instant oatmeal (all flavors)
- Meals in a box
- Canned goods: soups, stews, tuna, ravioli, pastas, fruits, vegetables
- Baby food and supplies (diapers, wipes, shampoos, lotions, etc.)
- Peanut butter and jelly
- Rice and bean mixtures
- Macaroni and cheese, pastas, and spaghetti sauce
Or, give of your time in one of these ways:
- Volunteer to pick up donated food at local grocery stores and deliver it to Children's Home Society in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
- Sign up for an outreach where we, in teams, conduct home visits to personally deliver the food.
- Help organize food before outreaches.
- Pray for God's provision and salvation for all those FoodSHARE seeks to reach.
Where do I drop off the food items?
Presently, we are not receiving food donations. Food collection will begin just before our next outreach. Please look for our announcement in the Calvary Connection, then check this site for drop-off locations.
If you have questions, please call the FoodSHARE hotline at 954-315-7563.
